Welcome to what you need

Tue Feb 5, 2008, 7:57 PM
We are so swamped with images and words colliding and persuading on television, magazines and nearly anything else the world uses images for to sell shit from items to ideas. I came to find that when I was reading serious articles I'd be interrupted with an advertisement on the next page and sometimes on the very same page. The images and the words morph to create very confusing or sometimes sick messages that stroll down a road split between no conclusion to sick conclusions. Nothing can go without a persuasion to give reason to the hoards of useless shit this world has to offer, all of which is amusing, but full of more meaning than what is really there. So much pretends to hold a powerful message of pure explanation to the meaning of life or our everyday conundrums, when in fact its just another message to confuse us further into selling a part of ourselves or following another blind road. You can begin to see the overall splot of a message when the words and images aren't there to support one-an other to their fictitious means, but to support the entire message one magazine has. Put a few articles about unhappiness mixed with an advertisement relating to marriage by an article that would probably attract the attention of a guy, then follow it up with an ED advertisement behind all of it to let it seed in. He now worries about something he probably wouldn't or shouldn't worry about. I've taken the time to piece some together, some for the fun feelings and some to simply offend. Keep in mind none of the images or words are not my own, but weaved together to read between the lines of what you see in every magazine you pick up. A page doesn't separate meaning, it simply makes you forget what was on the previous page. Please, don't let stupid shit fool you into thinking anything is as important as it's made to be. Pictures lie, especially when there's words to lie with them.

Glad to hear it. Thanks for taking time to looky aroundy.

I like how your collages are recognizable... like you sort of have this trademark of simply an image with words to accentuate it.

It was a simple theme of finding images and words in the same magazine and plotting them together. Thanks for zine comment!
